Framed Antique Print From Belgium
This is a very old print, probably from the 1930's which features a painting of a rural lake side scene in Italy. You see the women at the edge of the lake washing the clothes, with the chickenjs roaming around in the background. Laundry is hanging on the balconies of the house, and little covered boats atre moored nearby. The lake is surrounded by the mountains in the background, and topped by white billowy clouds. It is a beautiful serene scene, that makes you want to linger. I especially love the brilliant colors and charming details. The artist signature is simply E. G. I believe it was probably a very popular painting to have been printed and framed so many years ago, probably because it gave an image of calm in a period of troubled times!
