Charming Country French Antique Dresser
This has all the charm of the French countryside in the southern part of France, including carved oak, beveled mirrors and lovely white marble. Notice the thick rounded cornice that wraps around the top with both ends scrolled around. There is a thin oak beaded trim around the beveled mirror that is arched at the top. Also see the cool brass ormolus that trim both sides at the top of the mirror and are repeated at the top of both sides of the dresser. There is a delicate cared vine at the top of the mirror that is echoed on both sides of the doors below. Also notice the good looking brass pulls on the two drawers, original to the piece. The crowning finish is the bright white marble with gray veining through out that also has the side pieces and back splash, so typical of pieces from the early 1800’s. This is a treasure dresser that will give so much character to the bedroom, and be an heirloom for your family for years and years to come.
