The base is a beautiful rich hardwood made complete by nice smooth ball legs of the same rich material. If you look closely you will notice that the back of these chairs are just as splendid as the front with brass nail trim finishing around the edges of the chairs. With the exception of a small spot (hardly noticeable) on one of the bottom corners of one chair this set of chairs is PERFECT!! They will make any room feel rich and yet very inviting.
