Antique Oak Louis Xv Style Cabinet Bar
This is a classic piece of furniture in a glowing golden oak that gives warmth and comfort from the first glance! I used this piece of furniture myself in our apartment in Brussels as an entry-way piece and I always loved it. It was the perfect piece of furniture to place our important papers, keys and valuables in, and still have a handsome piece of furniture to enjoy. The carving on the front drop down panel is in lovely detail with scrolls and latice work across the middle. The ornate brass pulls are original to the piece and make a fine compliment. Its original use was intended to be a bar for drinks, so it is lined in red and has two glass shelves. There are two thin drawers, dove-tailed of course! Underneath the drawers is a beautifully scalloped apron with a lovely carved seashell otif in the center. Two front legs are curved in the French cabriole style and give beauty and support.
