Classic Antique French Style Armchair
This is a really lovely needlepoint chair, and in absolutely incredible condition. I loved it so much when I first saw it, that I brought it home to our apartment in Belgium, and it was our pleasure to enjoy it for the three years that we were there. It is absolutely sturdy and stable, and the needlepoint is in pristine condition! The frame is a solid hardwood, curved and grooved in classic Louis XV style, with darling daisies carved on both knees of the cabriole legs, and crowning both the top of the chair and the scalloped apron across the front. The color is a very deep burgundy or marroon or wine. The flowers are brilliant shades of pastel pink, blue, yellow and pink. The focal point is the center piece of the back which is done in tiny petit point and shows a lovely scene of a man and a woman dressed as if coming from the beautiful era of the 1700's in France. This is one of the very best needlepoint chairs I have ever seen, and is worth much more than it will ever sell for on our site, if experience is any indicator, so I give my congratulations to the winner--you got a fantastic deal!!!!
