Prohibition Era Bar Cabinet

During an era marked by prohibition, the 1920s and 30s were hard on those wishing to consume alcohol. Liquor was available only through illicit means; gangsters and bootleggers became very rich men because of the Volstead act of 1919, which made alcohol illegal. Even though alcohol was against the law, its use thrived as evidenced by this wonderful piece. A traditional bar cabinet, this piece was constructed expressly for the purpose of serving drinks. Fine burled hardwood glows from the front of the piece. Two cabinets on the top open to reveal a large serving area bedecked with mirrors bearing the image of a martini glass. A pullout shelf with a fine mirror is conveniently hidden under the top cabinets. Two lower cupboards open to reveal a storage area for bottles or other containers. This piece would look wonderful in your home! No longer do we fear raids from prohibitionists, yet you could own this piece of history to remind you of the time that was. c553oc338
