There is a very wide carved molded cornice that wraps itself around the top, and underneath there is a deeply carved scrolled panel with a family crest in the middle and flanked by two long medallions. This scrolled pattern of carving is repeated at the bottom on the two dove-tailed drawers that give extra space at the bottom, and sit on top of the same wide carved molding that graces the top of the wardrobe. Notice the panel construction that is used on either side and the back of the piece--this is a sure indication of quality. The final touch of class is the long lathe-turned fluted columns that frame either side of the wardrobe in such form and style that you absolutely have to be impressed with the beauty of the whole!
