Superb Antique Louis Xvi Style Dining Table
This is a table of such exquisite quality and craftsmanship, that we said it was unmatched, which means you won't find better anywhere! It was made in Belgium in the very early 1900's of a gorgeous solid European oak, hand carved and crafted. Look at the beauty of the carved and tapered legs, with the long acanthus leaves draped down the columns. The stretchers that connect the legs are deeply grooved and gracefully curved. The carving on the apron that surrounds the table seems to me to represent the waves of the ocean, trimmed in a tiny little flower border. The top is panel construction with a large frame around it, and deeply grooved on the edges. There are two extensions that are tucked underneath, easy to pull out, and each of them is 24.5" long!!! FANTASTIC! The styling of this table is exquisite, definitely for someone with discriminating taste--someone who wants the best--that's this table!
