Vintage Dutch Style Secretary
This is a style of secretary that I have never seen before. Usually this style is found in dining room sets, but this is the first time I have seen it in a secretary. I think it is very handsome, in a warm light golden oak, the drop down front has a carved scene of life in a country village. This front drops down and is supported by two long pulls on either side, so that it becomes a firm writing surface. There are two little cubby holes on either side. There is a small hole at the back that has been cut out, probably to accommodate the plug for a computer. There are two large drawers underneath with plenty of storage for papers and documents. Notice the sides and the raised panels—very handsome. The entire piece is supported by large cup and saucer legs, that give just the right character to the style. This is a wonderful piece of furniture for the den or bedroom or family room, that takes up very little space, is handsome to look at, and very functional as well! Imported from Belgium.
