Elegant Antique Louis Xvi Style Dessert Stand Commode
This is a great example of the incredible beauty of the Louis XVI style furniture that graced France during the 1700's and soon moved outward to all of Europe, and now across the world. It is crafted in a wonderful European golden oak, solid and carefully made. Look at the back and see the panel construction, and you will get an idea of the quality of this piece. The key elements of this piece that make it a great example of the Louis XVI style are the tapered fluted legs, the carved ribbons and garlands, and the brass ormalus that grace the corners. Look at the delicate design carved into the front doors of ribbons and flowers and even grapes. I love the gentle curve of the crown that frames the curved beveled mirror, with it's flowers and foliage. This is a super piece, made probably around the turn of the century, and imported from Belgium, at no small cost to be available for sale from our warehouse. Imagine how beautiful this would look in your entry way, or finishing the decor of your dining room, or even as a side piece in the bedroom.
