Gorgeous 1900’s Antique Marquetery Oak & Burlwood Bedstead
This piece is simply fantastic with its detailed workmanship and design. Created in the early 1900’s this bed has style and sophistication and is not a piece that we usually find – a rare treasure! The headboard is tall and majestic and features beautiful inlaid burlwood panels along with intricate detailed carvings. The top carvings are scallops and underneath that are grapevines intricately cut into the wood. The sides are carved in a finial design and add the magnificent illusion. The sideboards are also a nice design, with cuts along the length with a raised flower medallion in the center. The curved footboard is a must see with the majority of workmanship done here. The footboard features book matched end with the center panel being created out of burlwood. The intricate inlaid wood fruit basket design was created by using different types of wood in creating this masterpiece. Also found is two raised grape medallions. The finial carvings cuts and flower medallion are also found here as well. This is really one of a kind – don’t just purchase this bed, but buy it’s coordinating pieces as well.
