Charming French Style Cabinet Book Case

This is a relatively simple style, considering some of the elaborate designs that have originated with King Louis XV of France, but this particular style is more along the lines of Louis Phillippe, who simplified the excess, but kept the beautiful flowing and graceful lines. There is a lovely arched cornice that wraps around the top of the cabinet, and two wide doors that have a raised panel following the arched and curved lines of the style. Notice how handsome the grain of the oak looks in the door panels—something you only get with oak. Behind the two doors are three solid oak shelves that will be perfect for books or any other thing you would like to put away, so you have an ample storage bonus with a very handsome piece of furniture. Underneath are two dove-tailed drawers with a curved trim and now notice the brass hardware, including the escutcheons on the doors, and the finial hinges, and the beautiful handles on the drawers—all in harmony with the style.. The whole piece is supported by the graceful cabriole leg that arches out and down. This is a stunning piece that will be just as serviceable as it is good looking.
