Unique Antique 1900s Oak Dresser And Mirror
This dresser will definitely be the focal point of the room, with it's lovely hand crafted oak from Belgium. Your eyes are instantly drawn to the beauty of the mirror. It is a beveled mirror, framed in a lovely arched pattern with hand carved flowers on the corners. The top is crowned by a large oval carving of flowers, and the sides are framed with fluted panels. The bottom cabinet features two drawers with original hardware of a unique pattern, dove-tailed joints and deeply fluted sides. Underneath the two drawers you find two doors with raised panels and large carved flowers, and behind the two doors is a shelf for storage. The marble is one inch thick and has a wonderful back splash which was very common in pieces like this that were made around the turn of the century. The marble was quarried in Belgium and is no longer available, which makes the value increase, of course! The color is a deep tan/maroon with very wide and pronounced veining in gray and white. This is a piece worthy of display in the most prominent place in the house, so that everyone can enjoy it, especially you, who will also be enjoying the increase in value each year!
