Incredible Brass And Onyx Hat Rack
This interesting piece is absolutely fantastic! Elegantly crafted from the finest brass, an alloy of copper and zinc, and sometimes containing tin, ductile, and capable of being hammered or rolled into thin leaves. Also much used for castings. From the days of Queen Elizabeth onward it has been much favored for domestic utensils, furniture mounts, and candlesticks. The upper revolving area features hooks for hats and coats, while the pillar features a fabulous onyx façade. The base of this piece is formed on the backs of three brass cherubim, holding an orb from which the rack protrudes. This piece would be an attractive addition to your elegant décor!
