Fabulous Antique Breton Bedframe
This is nothing short of wonderful! The bed frame was made in around 1860 in the northwestern part of France, in an area called Brittany, and has since come to be known as "Breton's". The style is unique to that region of France, where seafaring was the industry. It is a dark solid oak, HAND CARVED EVERY INCH!!! The scenes are of the people of the area, in their old fashioned folk costumes, including wide brimmed hats, and dresses. Look at the wonderful scenes on the footboard of the bed – notice the small details such as the thatched roof, detailed leaves, and brick wall. Notice the excellent carving on the crown of the headboard with the crest at the top and the two men back to back playing their horns. Even the sideboards are carved the entire length--FABULOUS! This is definitely a bed you will treasure for always, it will increase in value dramatically, as these sets become more and more rare, and let's face it--it is just plain INCREDIBLE!
