Elegant Anitque Malineiose Oak Buffet #2

The epitome of elegance, this beautiful oak buffet is a showpiece as well as a masterpiece. Crafted in Maline, just north of Brussels, this piece is a wonderful example of the Malinois style. Long, hand-turned columns descend gracefully from its stately cornice to shelves surrounded by lathed finials. Housed behind a four-paned, beveled glass mirror is a locking cabinet, below which sits a handsome flatware drawer. With finial-accents throughout the upper portion of this piece guiding the eye from side to side and slender columns moving vertically, this buffet is unrelenting in its quest for attention. The lower portion is dominated by two cupboard doors carved in beautiful high-relief. As is typical in the Malinois style of furniture, three carved lion heads separate the two sturdy, dovetailed drawers that sit just below the main surface of the buffet. A masterful balance between form and function combined with outstanding craftsmanship, this piece is nothing short of breathtaking. c678oc519
