Antique Malineoise Mirror



An excellent example of a style called Malineoise, named after a small French town in called Maline, just north of Brussels, this style of furniture was made between 1860 and 1900. The characteristic feature of Malineoise is the carved figure of the lion, however this piece has four heads of a man across the top. This type of furniture is highly sought after by collectors and decorators alike. This exquisite mirror is a wonderful example of this style.
