This is a fabulous chair which would make a beautiful accent piece just about anywhere in your home. It is called "Malineoise" because it is a style that was only made in the town of Maline, which is just north of Brussels, Belgium, during the years of 1860 to 1900. They devleoped a very characteristic style with the signature carving being the lionheadl, found on corners and tops, and in this case on the ends of the arms, and also carved as the two top finials at the back of the chair. All four of the legs are beautifully lathe turned and even the three stretchers between the legs are lathe turned in the same pattern--excellent! The upholstery is a one of a kind tapestry that was purchased in Paris, in a deep royal blue with gold diamond accents and crimson cherries. You can be positive this is a one of a kind chair, and you will be the only one in the entire world with this chair--just watch the value soar!! c408oc170
