Fabulous German Dresden Porcelain

I am so proud to present my very favorite thing in the world--a piece of German Dresden porcelain, and this particular figurine is also my very favorite of all that they make. Her name is Dolly and she is absolutely the epitome of elegance, and a true emblem of the French Era of Loveliness or "La Belle Epoque." I have been to the factory in Germany where they make these figurines and it is fascinating to watch how they are done--each one meticulously hand painted and styled. The manufacturer's name is Keilhauer and they offer the following information in their brochure: "Dear Collector: The production of lace-figurines dates back to the beginning of the 18th century. According to scientific sourcesk the first figurines were made in the area of Dresden in Saxony. In the late 19th and the early 20th century, a few little family-run companies producing lace-figurines were founded in Thuringia, East-Germany. Among those was the little factory of Franz Sieber, Rudolstadt. Specializing in high quality lace-figurines, that company had an excellent reputation among international collectors between 1920 and the beginning of the Second World War. After 1945, the company was confiscated by the communists. The owner, Mr Sieber, and his friends Lothar and Gisela Keilhauer fled to Kups, Bavaria, to reopen a factory for lace-figurines. The young entrepreneurs decided to base their production on 250 year old recipes which excluded the use of any machines. As a consequence, KIeilhauers' figurines are completely handmade. So Keilhauers guarantees that each figurine consists of single pieces assembled by hand. Its production takes at least six weeks. Keilhauers' long experience, the detailed production on a hi8gh level and the hard training of its artists makes it extremely difficult for other porcelain companies all over the world to achiedve comparable standards of craftsmanship in the production of lace figurines." Now you must examine the pictures carefully and see that there is not one single chip or mark on this piece, even though it was purchased many years ago. You can't fail to notice the delicacy of the ruffles of laces and their tiny little pink roses placed here and there on the girl's skirt. Look at her beautiful faces, and notice the fine little fingers in her hands. The detail and beauty is unparalleled anywhere. This is truly a piece to cherish and enjoy forever! Just imagine her in a place of honor in your fine living room or bedroom, and what a conversation piece she will be as you tell the story of her production, and note that she is extremely rare. She comes from a very small factory so she won't be found in mass anywhere, that's for sure! If you are a discriminating collector you will recognize immediately the value of this doll and rejoice at your opportunity to bring her home! oc185nn
